| Description | Locomotive engineer Paul Pleasant will present a lecture about railroads in North Florida at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 19 at the Mandarin Community Club, 12447 Mandarin Road. The Lecture is part of the Third Thursday Lecture Series sponsored by the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society and the Mandarin Community Club. Attendees are welcome to join beginning at 6:30 for refreshments. Pleasant is a Jacksonville native. He served 23 years in the Navy before becoming an engineer with the St. Marys Railroad. “I have had a keen interest in trains and railroading since I was a child and running a locomotive is the realization of a lifelong dream,” said Pleasant. |
